We seek to tailor our services to the individual and the stage of your NED career, through the 'Life-cycle' approach set out below.

The services we provide help to equip you to take on a very demanding role - both technically and personally. As well as formal training and education areas - set out in dedicated sections of this website - we can also act as a sounding board and provide access to support services from knowledge and learning to introductions to other NEDs who can provide first hand practical advice. Our regular and varied networking events also provide an opportunity to connect and to explore other routes to market.

Individual services


Mentoring

We provide a tailored and supportive mentoring services that is focused on the individual particularly helping aspiring NEDs to develop and understand their objectives and the roles that they are looking for. In particular, we believe that the essential characteristics of a mentor should be:

  • Responsive and proactive
  • A good listener, observer and communicator
  • Provide open and honest feedback
  • Be non-judgmental, approachable and available
  • Help with problem-solving

Above all there needs to be a commitment to mentoring, providing the time and experience to help NEDs to achieve their goals, focused on successful outcomes. Areas where we can provide specific help include:

  • Review CVs
  • Articulate goals and personal objectives
  • Facilitate a personal SWOT analysis
  • Make appropriate links with recruiters and search firms
  • Role play interview techniques
