The next event in the 'Out-competing to win' series from Chapter Zero and McKinsey, taking place shortly after the climate conference, will bring together NEDs for an opportunity to hear the outcomes of this year's COP29, engage in dynamic discussions, and connect with peers after the main session.
COP29 comes at an incredibly important time for communities being devastated by the climate crisis. Currently taking place from the 11-24 November 2024 in Azerbaijan, it will be one of the last major opportunities for countries to signal their intention to put together new and enhanced climate plans, which to date fall far short of what is required to avert dangerous levels of climate change.
With COP29 being dubbed the 'Finance COP', in light of negotiations for a new climate finance goal dominating the agenda, McKinsey's expert analysis will prove particularly valuable.
Discussions will explore how Boards can help organisations make the most of potential changes to business brought on by COP29.
The face-to-face session in London will start with a presentation from McKinsey experts and a panel discussion, followed by a Q&A and networking drinks.
This event is exclusively for NEDs.
Speakers include:
- Thomas Lingard - Global Head of Sustainability
- Daniel Mikkelsen - Senior Partner, McKinsey & Company
- Harry Bowcott - Senior Partner, McKinsey & Company
