The inaugural session of the events series Out-competing to Win explores how boards can approach hyper-scaling environmental technology for commercial benefit, and provides NEDs with a great networking opportunity.
This September marks the beginning of the latest event series from Chapter Zero in collaboration with McKinsey & Company, Out-competing to Win; the impact programme of face-to-face events will focus on the changes needed to accelerate in the boardroom whilst driving the best thinking on achieving net-zero and influencing real change. The first session of the series looks at hyper-scaling climate technologies.
Many of the technologies needed to achieve deep decarbonisation already exist, but their maturity levels are uneven; only 10% are commercially competitive while a further 45% are commercially available, but will require cost reductions through innovation and scale-up to become competitive. The remainder hold great promise but are in earlier stages.
Can these new sustainability technologies enable the 1.5 degrees path to net zero while creating massive shareholder value? The session will explore the strategic fundamentals of hyper-scaling climate technologies, alongside a ‘how-to’ guide for boards steering enterprises in the age of out-competition.
Confirmed speakers include McKinsey partners Harry Bowcott and Jayanti Kar, as well as Susan Hooper, an experienced board member, and NED at Moonpig plc, EUROWAG plc, and Uber UK. The event will also include a panel discussion and Q&A, followed by networking drinks.
