Establishing a strong corporate culture is now a central theme in the governance of any organisation and getting it wrong can lead to extreme reputational damage, as being experienced currently by the CBI, or to the organisation going out of business, as experienced by Carillion and others. The question is how should boards shape the narrative and provide direction?
Against this backdrop we will be considering how boards are actually grappling with the development of organisational culture and in particular how input from Non-Executive Directors (‘NEDs’) can make a difference.
BDO will be hosting the session, with the support of their new boardroom partner the Non-Executive Directors’ Association (‘NEDA’). BDO and NEDA will be joined on the webinar by Telos Partners, a consultancy that supports sustainable change within organisations, and by an experienced NED, creating an expert Panel that will explore a dynamic and topical area that needs practical solutions.
The Panel session will seek to cover:
- How culture impacts employee performance, organisational resilience, and decision-making, and how it can be a source of competitive advantage.
- How to create better awareness, establish a shared language, and generate healthy dialogue on culture diagnostics and transformation.
- Understand why corporate culture is a boardroom issue and how boards need to lead by example, especially as the culture of the board itself can impact the organisation
- Why organisations should act now to build a strong culture and understand how this is relevant to NEDs and the role they can potentially play in the process.
