Preliminary results from the 2021 survey of corporate chief executive officers (CEOs), conducted by the global consultancy Accenture in partnership with the United Nations Global Compact, were published in June.
This showed that 79% of CEOs believe that the pandemic has highlighted the need to transition to more sustainable business models. Additionally, 62% of CEOs said the pressure to act on sustainability grew significantly over the last three years since the previous survey, while 73% said they expect pressure to act on sustainability to grow significantly over the next three years. The full survey will be published at the end of the year following the COP26 Climate Conference in Glasgow.
IBE is hosting a briefing on the full results of the survey and to explore what the findings mean for businesses generally and for ethics and leadership development functions specifically.
Speakers are: Apurv Gupta, Manager, UN Affairs Sustainability Strategy, Accenture Strategy and Consulting and Rebecca Mayfield, Group Director - Ethics & Corporate Responsibility, Meggitt.
The session will be Chaired by David Grayson CBE, Chair of the Trustees Board, Institute of Business Ethics.
