The Non-Executive Director Awards were established in 2006, by Peel Hunt in association with NEDA, to recognise the achievements of Non-Executive Directors who contribute daily to the success and growth of businesses and Not-for-Profit organisations across the UK.
There are seven categories within the Awards:

- FTSE All Share
- FTSE AIM
- Private/Private Equity Backed
- Not-for-Profit/Public Service Organisation
- Dame Helen Alexander ‘NED to Watch’
- Lifetime Achievement Award
An eminent panel of judges follow a thorough six stage judging process to ensure the winners for all categories are chosen in an impartial manner. The judges come from a variety of sectors bringing a diverse range of opinions and expertise when picking the winners.
