
We are delighted to announce that nominations for the 2027 Non-Executive Director Awards are now open. Nominations close on Sunday 8th November.
The Non-Executive Director Awards were established in 2006 to recognise the achievements of Non-Executive Directors who contribute daily to the success and growth of businesses and Not-for-Profit organisations across the UK.
There are 8 categories within the awards, with 7 open for nominations:
- FTSE 100 Chair
- FTSE 100 NED
- FTSE All Share
- FTSE AIM
- Private/Private Equity Backed
- Not-for-Profit/Public Service Organisation
- Dame Alexander ‘NED to Watch’
- Lifetime Achievement Award
The NED Awards are proud to be guided by an eminent panel of judges drawn from across the business, public service, and academic sectors. Their collective expertise ensures a rigorous and impartial selection process, reflecting the diversity and excellence that the awards seek to honour.

We invite you to nominate any Chair, Non-ExecutiveDirector (NED) or Senior Independent Director (SID) who you believe deserves recognition for their outstanding contribution and leadership.
Nominations can be submitted via the nomination portal here.
A nomination provides valuable recognition for both the individual and their organisation, celebrating excellence in governance and board leadership. Anyone can nominate anyone.
The nomination process is quick and straightforward. The initial submission takes just a few minutes to complete.
- Stage 1 – Complete the initial online nomination form: http://www.nedawards.co.uk/nominate/
- Stage 2 – Once submitted, the NED Awards team will contact a board member to complete a detailed nomination form.
- Stage 3 – Professors from Cranfield and Henley University will review the nominations and compile a shortlist of top candidates in each category.
- Stage 4 – Judges will conduct individual interviews with each shortlisted nominee.
- Stage 5 – The Judging Panel will convene in February to select the winners. The final shortlist will be announced in The Sunday Times.
The 2027 awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, 18th March 2027.
All nominations are treated in strict confidence. The identity of the nominator will not be disclosed to the nominee unless you choose to share this information at a later date.
