The upcoming webinar from the Institute of Business Ethics (IBE) explores the question of how responsible business can build trust and achieve long-term strategic advantage in a turbulent world.
Led by Professor Alison Taylor of NYU Stern School of Business, and soon-to-be IBE Chief Executive, Lauren Branston, the discussion will centre around the line of argument from Taylor’s recent release Higher Ground, proclaimed as one of the Financial Times’ best summer books for 2024.
In her book, Professor Taylor argues that organisations can no longer treat ethics as a legal and reputational defence mechanism amid stakeholder demands and growing pressures for transparency. Morally black-and-white issues such as bribery and fraud are no longer the only ethical challenges facing businesses in a volatile global landscape, and traditional processes can prove inadequate at tackling more nuanced concerns.
How should leaders rethink and reshape their practices? How can they cut through the noise to set robust environmental and social priorities? How can businesses do the right thing in a turbulent world? These questions offer invaluable insights for NEDs hoping to get ahead.
