Guy Rigby and David Murray are the oldest pair on planet earth to row any ocean… An absolutely incredible achievement!
As reported in November 2021 one of NEDA’s co-founders and current NED, Guy Rigby, took part in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. The Challenge is a fundraising event which sees teams’ row non-stop across the 3,000-mile stretch of ocean between La Gomera (just off Tenerife) and Antigua – a trip that can take between 32 -70 days to complete (based on previous race times).
Guy and his rowing partner David Murray took part in the race to raise money for social entrepreneurs in their boat ‘The Entrepreneur Ship’ and with a collective age of 124 they are the oldest pair to complete the gruelling race!
The pair’s chosen charity is The Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs, which trades as UnLtd, whose aim is to develop a generation of social leaders with enduring impact. UnLtd finds, funds and supports social entrepreneurs – people with vision, drive and passion who develop solutions that change the world for the better.
