The NED Awards 2025

The 2025 annual NED Awards took place this month, celebrating the outstanding achievements of non-executive directors across various sectors. We are delighted to share the highlights and winners from this year's awards.

The NED Awards, hosted by Peel Hunt in partnership with NEDA, aim to recognise the achievements of Non-Executive Directors, Chairs, and SIDs who contribute significantly to the success and growth of businesses and not-for-profit organisations across the UK. Successful delegates were celebrated this month at the Claridges' ceremony. 

Winners Summary:

FTSE 100 Chair: Peter Ventress, Howden Joinery Group

Peter has demonstrated a long-term vision with a strong focus on ethics, leading to outstanding financial performance and strategic growth.

FTSE 100 NED: Jock Lennox, Barratt Redrow

Jock has been instrumental in pushing governance forward with his methodical approach, resulting in a refreshed culture and approach to risk and controls.

FTSE AIM: Leslie-Ann Reed, Learning Technologies Group

Leslie-Ann has demonstrated exceptional performance across governance, diversity, and risk management, playing a pivotal role in the company's transformational growth.

Peter has navigated issues with best practice governance, setting the highest standards for the Board and leadership team, leading to exceptional growth and investor confidence.

Not-For-Profit/Public Service Organisation: Dame Linda Pollard, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

Linda's significant contributions have led to a complete transformation of the Trust, turning around its culture and financial performance.

Private/Private Equity Backed: Debbie Hewitt MBE, Compare the Market

Debbie has driven transformational change at Compare the Market, restructuring its governance and building a high-performing Board.

‘NED to Watch’: Hounaïda Lasry, Britvic

Hounaïda has made an exceptional contribution to Britvic with her high levels of curiosity, engagement, and independent thinking.

Lifetime Achievement: Richard Meddings CBE
