The Investor Association (IA), the trade body that represents UK investment managers, collectively manage over £7.7 trillion on behalf of clients. They have just come out with a report addressing areas of priorities for shareholders in 2020.
They adopt and encourage a holistic approach to stewardship; expecting companies to be cognisant of a wide range of material issues including environmental, social and governance issues.
This year the IA has developed expectations on four areas that members believe can be critical drivers of long-term value:
Responding to Climate Change
Audit Quality
Stakeholder Engagement
Diversity
